Father Dennis Foy (1930 – 2003, ordained 1958) had a genius for making people happy. In the #classroom he was dramatic and engaging, his love of #Shakespeare never leaving him without a quotation for any sort of situation. Outside the classroom, he served as Treasurer General for the Congregation, as well as the Canadian Alternative Investment Cooperative – a group that made low-interest loans to applicants who had been refused by banks.

📯 A piece of Windsor’s history has come back to life — the 180 year old, 4,000-lb Angelus bell that has hung in the tower of Our Lady of the Assumption Church since 1845 has been carefully restored as part of the church’s restoration. Silent for over a decade, this beloved bell rings once more. 🕍✨

It's restoration has unraveled another treasure - a 219-year-old bell unheard since 1893, singing for the first time in 132 years.

This milestone marks a major step in restoring one of Ontario’s oldest parishes and brings new hope to the Windsor community. ❤️🔔

The Archdiocese of Mexico City has asked Fr. Beto Rojas, CSB, to serve as Administrator of St. Peter Martyr Parish in Tlalpan. Along with the three chapels already under his care, this new mission extends our Basilian presence to four more chapels — seven in total.

Amongst the Basilians, ‘Art’ Holmes (1930 – 1994, ordained 1957) is considered the best mathematics teacher the Congregation produced. Father Arthur taught all his priestly life at St Michael’s College School and St Charles College, Sudbury, finding a new ministry of healing and spiritual counsel working with Alcoholics Anonymous in the last decade of his life.
